Mine has been stuck half way between max and half, and it has been 1k km since my oil change to introduce M1 0w-40. I put 9 litres as per my regular change.
I read in the owners' handbook, using a diffrent oil to 10w-60 may not give an accurate oil level reading. Why would that be? Oil is oil, and does the sensor pickup the different viscosity of the oil. I think think this another BMW BS about oil
