Some more recent info directly from Martin Shiebe stating the the C63, at least, will stay with the 4 cylinder hybrid system already being offered.

"Recent speculation has suggested Mercedes-AMG is planning on ditching the new C63’s four-cylinder hybrid. It’s not. Like it or not that’s here to stay.

Speaking to TopGear.com, Michael Schiebe, AMG’s CEO, said: “I know there is some talk in town about ’why did you kick out the V8 from that car?’. But we want to be very, very progressive when it comes to technology. And we are convinced of the hybridisation concept, there we will stay with the four cylinder."

It will be interesting to see where AMG positions their higher bracket vehicles like the E and the CLE in terms of displacement. I still think they will stay with the 4 cylinder setup despite the I6 in the CLE53. I think they will still be under Euro pressure to stay with the hybrid tech and keeping the ICE assist with a low displacement. Anything could happen though.
