Thanks gents, It's certainly an acquired taste... but I like that it's different although I wasn't brave enough to make it stand out even more in some of the M colour options. The interior colour choices are a little disappointing in that it's either Black or Sakhir Orange (and it's a lot of orange especially in the back)
Strange that the engine outputs are slightly different as I did think that the drivetrain with the X5 was the same. We did look at an X5 as there's some good offers on those too, but the interior space of the XM is ridiculous, there's more room in the back than my X7
plus if you spec them to the same level the XM is so much cheaper. The XM has literally everything on it apart from Driving assistant professional, but strange no sunroof you get an atmospheric light display instead
For the type of driving I do the hybrid will be be much better for us too, I mainly commute with the odd long road trip.
Delivery is anticipated as September hopefully.
