1.)The S class isn't meant to be light.
2.) Half the general public don't recognize the difference between an M Sport and a Sport or Luxury Line. You think an M car stands out? Newsflash! It doesn't.
3.)Mercedes and BMW want their 3 and C to sell. Hell, a bare bones 320i can be had for $300/month.
