The thing I really don't like about this: BMW Recall Link, is that you can type in a totally bogus number and it doesn't tell you that it isn't a valid VIN. I think their lookup is bogus. Has anyone EVER gotten a recall acknowledgement from this thing? |

Owners of potentially affected vehicles will be contacted by BMW Customer Relations via First-Class Mail to inform them of the recall and, when parts are available, will receive a second notification that will advise them to make an appointment with their authorized BMW center to have the repair made
No mention of a possible time frame.
