I sure as hell don't make quick decisions there nor do my customers make quick decision about my age at least the smart ones don't (30 but I've been doing this for 8 years now). You'd be amazed by how many young people advise older people and vice versa.

Anyway shitty sales people make assumptions. Good ones ask questions.
