The N54 was praised for it's performance potential but widely criticized for it's reliability issues in many circles. That is probably a big reason for their move to the N55, which from what I've gathered has proven to be a more reliable powerplant overall. Hopefully with the new inline six rumored to be in the LCI F30 cars, they will get the best of both worlds. |
