Yeah that's what i originally thought too that's why I downloaded ista p, but when I ran the diagnostic it actually came back as a short circuit. Also the unit was tested on the other side before installing and it worked perfectly so I'm thinking it may actually be a wiring issue also both headlights are halogen, but thank you for the info and I'm actively seeking someone to install a new wiring harness to see if that helps

If you've ruled out the control unit then yes, you have something else going on. Most people don't realize headlight control units are VIN specific but it sounds like you confirmed the control unit is good. Good luck, hope you get it resolved.
