As much as I previously would have doubted that Chevy would produce a Camaro with more horsepower than the top of the line Corvette, the ZL1 weighs around 4100lbs and the Hellcat Challenger is estimated around 4200lbs so that would make a lot of sense.

Hellcat challenger and charger are >4500 lb's.
The 1le, zl1 and z/28 were all road course oriented. Not one of them was advertised as being 1/4 mile cars. They are advertised as being cars that you can drive on the track while shuttling your family with you there and back.
Corvette is a no compromise vehicle. I think both vehicles have their own separate markets and despite performance overlap, there will be no problem regarding stepping on the others feet.
