Where did you buy your "new" fuel pump from? Maybe it is bad?

VAG cars are notorious for eating fuel pumps at this age. Really from 90K onwards. They usually have two fuel pumps. But now a days they are two in one design. I would also replace the fuel pump relay and fuse. They are probably toast too. Smell them for a burnt smell. I bet there is also a small micro filter at the fuel rail. VAG likes to use these and it should be replaced at the first service... but they never get replaced.

I would clear the code and see what happens. IF the code doesn't clear... try disconnecting the car battery for an hour. Then hook it back up and see what happens.
