They aren't THAT gay. My wife has a Cooper S and loves it, and I enjoy driving it sometimes as well. With that being said, I don't feel quite as masculine when I drive it. It's KIND OF gay, but if your son isn't a flamer or metro he won't look gay driving it. I agree with others though, I'd get something big and slow for a first car.
On another note, where in the world are you getting one for $207/month? That's impossible unless you put about 10g down on a Cooper S, maybe more.
