The 991 is a better car, but is it a better 911? That is debatable with no right or wrong answer. Enthusiasts however take note that the prices are getting a bit ridiculous. Ok, they already were ridiculous, now they border on ludicrous (try to price out a basic 911 for < 100K with a few options. ).
The joy of a simple air cooled p-car can not be replicated without going back in time.
993's have held their value for a while. I briefly looked at them but instead we decided on a base somewhat stripped Cayman a few years back (wife's DD). Could not justify the price delta and despite haters, the mid engine car is more playful hands down
