What exactly do you mean by what you wrote: "This is something that short of a hardware solution the Chinese manufacturer should be fixing via coding." It is something that can be solved via a local USB update?

Full text from you for a bit more context:
The MMI seems to boot up at times a fraction later than the HU. This causes an internal CID bus error that you cannot see unless you use ISTA+, but you can ignore it. But this is also happening when powering off the HU and the MMI. That's when you see the "No Signal" in the CID. This is something that short of a hardware solution the Chinese manufacturer should be fixing via coding.

Best,

David
The MMI powers on when it gets power from the car. The power on time depends on the internal hardware of the MMI and the software boot time. The engineers would have to make either hardware or firmware changes to make the MMI boot up faster than the HU and CID as to avoid errors on the car’s bus not seeing the CID. The MMI sits between the CID and the HU.

The auto music play at start up is written in the firmware. It starts if you have the HU menu set to Multimedia => Phone. You maybe able to set your phone not to allow auto play. Some others suggested to set an automation routine in the iPhone that stops the music playing when Carplay starts/connected.

I rather have the MMI connect to the car automatically when the phone is in range, even if annoying, than not.

Do not expect Apple or Samsung level sophistication and user integration from a $220 Chinese hack.
