It’s only going to get worse. Insurers are already pulling out, reducing competition. Those insurers left are free to raise rates.

Insurance is nothing but a way of spreading risk across a large pool, but the more risk increases (whether from nature or increasingly risky behavior like bad drivers), the higher premiums will get.

It has nothing to do with politics, but people always look for excuses and that’s where it goes. Politicians like desantis do it too.
I say BS. If DeSantis woulda got out there with his umbrella and stopped those damn hurricanes we wouldn't be in this situation.
