In the summer of '63, we took two days to drive from San Francisco to Denver. I don't recall the vehicle; it was a rental sedan, though.

It was two adults in front and four kids in the back. There was no A/C.

I think we were tougher back then; either that or we just didn't know enough to demand our rights.
