2006 325i Offer
I have this offer on the table from a dealer in Northern VA;
2006 325i (T. Silver/Black) with Prem/Cold/Xenon/Step/Sat Rad Prep for an "out the door" price of $ 37467.70. Approximately $ 750 over invoice. I am thinking about counter-offering between $ 36,900 - $ 37, 250. Thoughts? |

I think you should wait for the new 2007 328i. It is more powerful and has better resale value. I came to my local dealer yesterday. Salesman offered me very low price on 2006 model. Even below invoice price for a demo unit. If you are willing to pay up $37,000, you can buy a 330i 2006. I think you should wait couple weeks more, you will save more as it is closed to the end of 2006. However, it is up to you and be patient. Good luck.

That's a sweet deal - I would go for it if those are the options you want
-or- You can find low mileage CPO'd '06 330i's with some decent options in that price range too.

JohnVA...I think you can do better. Looking at your options and putting it in context of Passport BMW's(MD) internet dept standard pricing structure, I got a figure of about $36,930 out-the-door, VA tax and new tags/title included. Passport (internet dept) has a straight-up $500 over invoice pricing policy but I think the price advantage might be due to low processing fee (passport asks for $100, includes mats and full tank) and MACO fees (Passport asks for $200 DAG, no MACO). So $36,930 is entirely and easily obtainable, I would push your deal further....Try $37k even.
Also try mentioning you got that figure from Passport, see what they say. If that doesn't go through, heck with it, just give Passport a call. The $500 over invoice pricing also applies for new E90 order so you don't really have to settle for a MY06 model when you can get into a MY07 model. PM me for contact info. Passport is a favorite with locals for their pricing and service... edit: JohnVA, keep us updated, in the meanwhile please enter our DC/MD/VA e90post registry. More details in my sig panel. Thanks.

I just received a call from the dealership. The salesperson offered to cut $250.00 off the price which would put the out the door price at approximately $ 37,215.00. Since it is closing in on the end of the month and the '07's are around the corner, I am going to counter-offer.
I am thinking of offering a straight $ 37,000 out the door. Any thoughts? |

Quite frankly, I don't think you know what you're talking about. The 328i does not play into the long term resale value as compare to 325i, unless you plan on selling the car in a year then yeah it might make a difference, but keep in mind 328 will be more expensive to start with..so please don't make these type of assumption when you don't have any solid proof to back it up
So, you think you know what you are talking about? What is your suggestion to him? What is your answer to the question. Do you have any solid of proof to show him. If not, just shut up. -CN |

First of all, learn how to use the quote button right and second, if he feels like getting a 328 then so be it, more power to him, but by you telling him that the resale value is going to be higher on 328 just because of the model change, that's inaccurate information and yes I do have proof, look up KBB and look up the value difference between 2000 323 and 2001 325 and check out the difference, the value difference is solidly base on year depreceiation rather then a model upgrade..so there you have it, my proof, my suggestion..and maybe it's your turn to shut up now

I'm in the same boat as the OP - I'm looking at a 2006 325i as well. I understand the new model may appeal to some people, but I'm not aware of any significant changes other than a 15 hp bump. I'm not interested in paying $100/hp plus having less negotiating room when compared to the outgoing 2006 that I can probably get closer to invoice. |
