For some odd reason I just got the urge for a 6 series, anybody consider trading up or buying a 6 series in addition? just wondering.

Even if money is not the issue here, I won't. I don't like any bigger than C-class or 3-series.
Yes, for P-car.

I don't want to open up this whole can of worms again....or maybe I do... The 6 is the same size as the 3, except it has less interior space and you can get it with a v10.
I'm happy with the V8 or I6 in the 3, and I actually like the bigger backseat. The variable suspension (on M) supposedly puts it on par for comfort with the 6 too. So the 6 only gets to exclusivity. |

same here man. went to college, got a degree, loaned 20k, paid off 1st yr, saved 25k next yr, and only able to afford a 325i in 06. How old and successful are people on this forum?
ohh yeah, if I do this again this yr, I would get a new C class. looks nicer than a 3. But I know I am not getting another car for another 10 yrs or when this thing dies. to OP - if you have the cash, go for it man. 6 = 2x3, if you will love( or hate) the 6 2x times what you have now |

I owned a six and didn't like it
Several cars back I owned a six series convertible. It had less room than the 335 convertible, was not as responsive, and it felt like I was driving a large car.
Even at the same price I'd stick with my 335. |

Reading the reviews it seem less impressive than the other Bimmer models...I would go for a loaded M3 or 7 series if I was going to pay that amount of $$$ for a car.

The 6 series is UGLY. The E9x has classic BMW lines, whereas the 6 series looks like they rushed to finish the styling on a Friday afternoon, so that they could take the weekend off.
As already stated, it is smaller inside than the E9x, and the sunroof only tilts, and does not slide open. Reaching the seat belts is another issue.

This is a silly question. The 6 is a status car - ala MB SL550 - you drive it to be seen in it. Anyone who values performance for the $$ in a German sedan would never drive a Six.

As some have pointed out, there would have to be some sort of event allowing for such a lifestyle change. Maybe being made sr. vp, partner, dunno, even getting an extra 100k bonus this Dec. wouldn't do it for me. It's not just the cost of the car, but the ongoing cost and maintenance. A 6 or 7 is solidly into the $1+ per mile for operating costs. The 335 is already more than 40 cents more per mile than an Accord. Sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has imho....

very interesting inputs, i def didnt think that far into, i just personally like the look of the car and my friend has a 550i and that is quite quick so i figured the 650 would be a nice car, and the m6 is just extremely fast. i was just thinking out loud wondering what you guys thought

I had the urge and then I checked my bank account, and suddenly the urge was no longer there.
