2017 BMW 440i xDrive reliability
I am looking at a 2017 BMW 440i xDrive with 85k miles on it. Would these miles worry you on a used car? Reports are decent and it comes with powertrain warranty for 2yr/100k miles. Is this reliable? Any maintenance you suggest doing after first purchasing it? Is this too high of mileage to be buying for first BMW?
At around 60k miles: Differential fluid, coolant, brake fluids were flushed If deemed reliable and a good buy, I am thinking of replacing spark plugs, coil packs and doing a transmission flush. Last edited by wbbmwf36; 02-09-2024 at 10:54 AM.. |

drivetrain wear is gonna depend on how hard the car was driven, if it was modded or tuned. at that mileage, a somewhat normally driven 440i shouldn't have any issues.
i'd check your control arm/thrust arm bushings, theres a good chance theyre leaking and may need to be replaced. wouldn't be surprised if struts are on their way out too.

You have the right mindset. Just focus on maintenance before mods like any used car. Check brake lifespan, loose control arms, do all fluids. If in doubt, assume X wasn't replaced yet.
