First bmw and car, 2012 black bmw f10 528 with m-sport. Got it three years after entering the workforce and family just got tired of using their vehicles.
Prob should have got myself a 328 considering im still in my late 20s but oh well. The car looks beautiful, drive is much to be desired though compared to my friend's 2000 e39 528 - that car drives like a champ. |

cruise control from miles to km
Hi. I have an E92 LCI year 2012. Is there any way to change the cruise control displaying km rather than miles?
I change all the configuration in km but cruise control I found no option. And ideas please? |

First Bimmer, 2011 E90 M3 white on novillo leather, all upgrades except EDC. Got it 3 months old(March 2012). After one full yr, that's when the mods came in. Started off with something simple, MS stud conversion, loved the orange GTS look, but with 19" stocks, looked ugly. Picked up a set of GTS (costed me a very pretty penny) now they look great. Can't just have the flash, gotta have the bang too, got myself a stage 2 MS intake, then RPi GTM full catless headerback and a MS pulley kit. Was going to get a SC until I sat in a GTR that was being sold (seller ripped it), came out with the bigggggeeesssstttt smile on my face and made my decision.
I change cars on an annual basis, nothing wrong with the M, great car, loved the adaptive headlights, the soft calf leather, thick meaty steering wheel, M drive/Navi, the exhaust tone but just couldn't put the same smile on my face like the GTR.

First BMW was a 2000 e39 528i black on black sports package... I had it delivered to work and it was a beauty... I have had two more e39's after that... A 2003 525i 6MT smoke gray on black, sports package and a 1999 black on beige I still keep as a beater when my e90 M3 is not being stretched on the road... I never owned anything else since 2000... All good times....

Well as somebody already mentionned earlier, this seems like a good place to get the 1st post out of the way...
My first and current BMW is my 2008 E92 M3...but technically we picked up a 2011 E90 335i for the girlfriend a year before...so we had a BMW in the yard. Lots of nice cars around here! |

My first BMW was a beautiful black 2004 325i (e46), it was a basic car with auto trans, pwr windows etc.
I bought it in 2007, and I have to tell you that it meant the world to me. To many it wasn't special, because it was an entry level BMW and it was already a few years old, however when I bought it, I was just starting out my life and my career, it was very expensive (at that time for me) as I was just a kid and didn't have much money to begin with lol. I remember paying for it in cash, and I cannot begin to explain the feeling that I felt as I was walking up to it, after receiving the paperwork, it was surreal. The sun hit the car in such a way that made it look like a dream. A dream I was walking toward with the keys in my hand. A dream that just 14 years prior, when I was not even a teenager, had seen a black 325i, and drooled over it and promised myself that I would buy it one day. My dream had come true. I started the engine and drove off. I drove the car for a few years and because of an overseas move, I had to sell that and my Ducati. But I tell you my friends, although I may drive better cars now, anytime I see an e46 on the road that just so happens to be black, and just so happens to be a 325, no matter what my mood, a smile seems to find itself on my face. I found a few pics:

Having owned many Mercedes in the family, I was very pro-Merc and anti-BMW. I've always loved the design of BMWs, but I could never get past the stigma of them being a-hole drivers. Had plans of moving out to California so was looking to get a convertible, but the MB SLK just didn't do it for me. And here we are, my first BMW, an e89. I am falling more and more in love with it every day (and BMW in general) and less and less with Mercedes (can you say going in the wrong direction in design? ). My next car probably won't be a BMW as I have my eye on the C7... There are just too many sweet cars out there, but you can bet I will be back because these are indeed fantastic machines.

My first was a 1973 E-10 2002 model in 1974 (yes; I am an old fart). I have always had at least one around since then and the stable has grown to six. Four Tii's and two that are carburetted; all have sunroofs. They are in various stages and some are modified with E30 updates.
You have to think back in time, if you're old enough to do so; and remember what the American manufacturers were building back in the 70's for small cars...Pinto's, Bobcat's, Vega's and Monza's. BMW had vehicles that had Mac Pherson suspension front ends, independent rear suspension, disc brakes, overhead cam, mechanical fuel injection, 50-50 weight distribution with a front engine and even a turbo model in Europe, they were 20 years ahead in engineering at the time, and this created the foundation for their vehicles. Every auto manufacturer used BMW as a benchmark to create their copy...but there is only one "feel" of a BMW that nobody can duplicate, and for those of you that drive them...I don't have to explain this. My daily is a E-90 330XI-great in winter or cornering on dry pavement as well. |
