Do BMW do coding of parts?
Hi
Noob on this topic of coding parts to cars, FSC codes etc... ...but if i buy a new steering rack, where can i have it coded to my car? Any info to help me understand the process would be much appreciated. Thanks |

If it's just the rack then find a local trusted garage and liaise with these guys to repair your existing rack off the car, then there's no need for coding.

I doubt they would code it if you had it fitted elsewhere.
When I had mine replaced in the last car, they didn't just code the rack, they had to do a complete software update. Suggest the OP to do his research thoroughly before heading down a particular route. |

BMW would only code the parts they supply and fit.
Can't see BMW coding a part you've bought off eBay then had you've had the eBay supplied part fitted at a local garage as if anything went wrong during the coding process you would hold BMW responsible. |
