New (interim) car day!

With all the deals being cr8p currently I have opted to get a long term car hire which I can renew every month.
Standard 320d msport so not hugely exciting but it is nice to be in a new car, a new BMW, sit low again, is not a volvo and actually looks OK in Standard spec. I had ordered a 320i but they sent a d which I'm not too fussed about.

First impressions are interior is nice but centre console plastic is scratchy, latest idrive is good, 320d goes OK, handles quite well on passive springs.

Hopefully will be a good learning curve car before a similar but considerably more powerful version replaces it when a deal pops up.

It really looks great, I like it. Good choice.

Sounds like an option we may look at. Could I ask which lease company you are using?

Thanks

You ordered a petrol but they sent a diesel? sounds a bit of a concern....

I know you didnt like your Volvo but I'd take a V60 T5 over a 320i anyday...

But as you say it will let you get used to the car in advance of going for the M340i (or not) at some time in the future.

I was impressed by the build of my 330e. Didn't think any of the plastics were particularly scratchy. Unlike the Mercedes A class!

Well more long term rental as its thrifty long term.
isleaiw1 yes but as above its from a rental firm its a vehicle category as opposed to an actual lease order. Sorry shouldn't have called it a lease.

As for a T5 or a 320i I would quite possibly agree as you'd get more kit, power etc but this is just a stop gap

Another (man maths justification) of getting this is to see if the saloon will fit family life or not.

Mkes a lot of sense now you have explained further.... and a cheaper way of seeing if a saloon works than buying an M5 and deciding it doesnt

What does a long term hire cost? Interesting.

About a 100 a month more than I want to pay for an m340 but obviously no upfront and you are paying for convenience. Subjectively it's expensive for a 320d but you can't compare to a lease/pcp. They do also do m340s but that was getting silly money.

Could live with just the one car but hey I have a brand spanking new 3er on the drive and this is a bmw forum so I had to rejoin the gang.
