Good Rep Brands?
How do you sift through all the wheel options out there? If you look on eBay, it’s hard to know what’s a cheap knock off and which are decently made reps for the money. Are there more preffered brands like Apex out there? Other than spending $8k+ on “legit” wheels, what are some other wheel options in the $2k-$3500ish range?

Just look for forged wheels. You'll be pretty much guaranteed quality wheels from whatever brand/style you choose.

I ran into the trouble of figuring out which 18" wheels fit over 370mm front brakes, and ended up just buying staggered 400m for my winter set. Otherwise I would have ended up with Enkei TX5s, as I think the double 5 spoke design works best with the F30's lines. Last edited by AspektUSA; 01-20-2023 at 09:41 AM.. |

I had OZ on my E46 and they were good. The only issue is that the paint was a little thin
I have Apex wheels on my F30 and HIGHLY recommend them. Usually they have sales in the spring

Seems like the go-to brand is Apex though I’m not quite a fan of the ACR-8’s lots of people seem to have. The VS-5RS are more of the look I’m going for however. I have also seen ads for these wheels but I’m not sure about the quality.

don't bother with replicas what are you looking for? fashion? function? a little of both? tracking? spirited driving? what size(s) and what category of tires? are you lowered or planning to? most importantly your budget for rims/tires/tpms? |

My car is a 2018 M-Sport 330i on 18x8 and 18x8.5 staggered. Im hoping to bump that to 19x8.5 and 19x9 (not sure what size tires will fit that without bulge or poke). All in I was hoping to be around $5000 for wheels/tires/coilovers give or take of course. I didn’t know I had to replace TPM sensors but I guess so. |

if VMR, 710FF 19x8.5 ET35, 19x9.5 ET45 with 235/40/19 265/35/19
if Avant Garde M610, 19x8.5 ET35, 19x9.5 ET43 with 235/40/19, 265/35/19 New TPMS are not necessary however it's easier to sell or swap OEM wheels complete, which is why i recommend getting new TPMS. regarding suspension I'd go KW V1. Bilstein B14/16 are monotube design with high gas pressures and ride much harsher than conventional twin tube damper such as KW. if i think of any other wheels that fit what you're looking i'll lyk. |

VMR is pretty well known for cracking/bending, especially in 19" size.
Enkei Raijin is the equivalent to what you're looking for, or the TSW Nurburgring. |

I've never heard of them, but it's important to distinguish between $brand_name_with_website buying wheels from tao bao/ali express and reselling them to US markets, and actual wheel manufacturers (e.g. TSW/Enkei/BBS) who have actual factories and actual interests in building their market share - and actually supply OEMs (Enkei and BBS are OEMs for Honda, BMW, etc.).

on these forums KW is regarded higher than Bilstein, but Ohlins is the best of the coilovers. if you do not need height adjustability, Eibach Pro-kit springs and F80 bumpstops, paired with Koni SA(red) or Yellow sport dampers are also a proven combination, with a nice even drop and sporty yet compliant ride. for me Avant Garde is above VMR but still on the medium-low end. it's been a little difficult finding 19" similar to CSL, in the widths and offsets needed for concave and fitment. there seems to be more CSL'ish available in 18". Apex is a good brand but they do not have the width and fitment you need. |

Hi there
I’ve had both VMR’s and Avant Gardes in the M359 design in 19” from the CSL. Never had any trouble with any of them. No cracks, no bend rims. Biggest difference was in the paint quality. AG’s seemed a bit thinner in the paint. Design wise I would go with the AG’s. Was closest to the real thing.
