Intake valves carbon buildup review

Hi,

I was hoping someone could lend me an eye and let me know what they think of my n20 intake valves and if walnut blasting would be worth the price, I've manually cleaned them a bit, they're still wet in the photos.

To me they look good, but I only watched YouTube videos Let others chime in...

I do not see any significant build-ups that may interfere.

Thanks, seeing as I've already bought all the walnut blasting equipment might as well try it, I should have it around tomorrow, I will post the results if anyone is interested. This is what they looked like before any cleaning (only have photos of 2 of the cylinders).

IMO you don't need to walnut blast. Doing so might unnecessarily open a can of worms. To the extent they could use cleaning this will do, with a lot less work and risk: https://www.crcindustries.com/gdi-iv...aner-11-wt-oz/

That's a good point, I actually used that but also combined brake cleaner, sort of, I mostly used the CRC Brake cleaner, I think it did a really good job considering. I think I might empty a can of this while the car is running in the MAP sensor opening as I still have a lot left, get it nice and warm and take it for some spirited driving right after.

Brake cleaner is the wrong stuff. It's nowhere near the concentration of intake cleaner. For that matter you shouldn't use intake cleaner to clean anything else, lest it damage it.
