I said : Checo Isn't MAX !

Checo doesn't have the MAX-Factor . No one has that ...

So happy for Sainz, I really think he is better than LeClerc overall. LC has the edge (or had) over Carlos on outright speed but he is steadier and not prone to mistakes as LC is.

Let's see what happens after the steward's investigation of ALO and Russell on his last lap crash.

Congrats to Ferrari for their top two finishes with SAI leading LEC to the line, OMGoodness they waited and suffered a long time after their solitary win last year.

Well MAX can't keep winning every race until time ends and a R/R brake or wheel bearing failure put paid to the RB 20 chances down under there. Good he made it back to the box so the fire could be extinguished and Checo at least grabbed some points to still keep the team ahead in the standings. No doubt the team will tell fans soon why the failure occurred.

Seen the highlights when I got up and Mercs' slide continues as LEW's PU fails and RUS crashed out over gravel, the West Londoners car ending up at a crazy 45 deg angle with ripped off wheels and suspension on one side folding over the side causing the list. Appears he got caught in ALO's wake and lost downforce.

are the stewards investigating themselves on why they didn't call a red flag when Russells butt hole was pointed straight at car noses coming at 220kph?

20s time penalty for Alonso because of potentially dangerous driving. Based on telemetry data the race stewards found that the old sly fox tried a trick to keep Russell, who was in hot pursuit, behind him. Alonso unexpectedly pulling his trick caught Russell by surprise, causing a crash (cars didn't make contact but complicated it for Russell to keep his car under control). Unexpectedly using way less throttle when another car is following at 0.5s, is not as agressive as brake-testing, but it's still causing a dangerous situation of unexpectedly backing up the car behind. Alonso's defense was too dangerous - cannot be condoned.

Russell came to a stop in a very vulnerable position with debris all around on track (high speed section of the track). With oncoming traffic at high speed, his mayday call requesting for red flag was absolutely justified. He was stricken sideways in the middle of the track and getting 'torpedoed' by another car could have had very dire consequences.

Anyone who ever got immobilized sideways in the middle of a karting circuit (entangled with another kart who is equally immovable or perpendicular against the track wall after an apex) knows the anxiety about the risk of getting imminently 'torpedoed' by oncoming karts. Of course, getting torpedoed in F1 car can be fatal instead of only minor bruises and a sore neck resulting from a low speed karting impact.

LEC was never happy on this track and it showed when he backed out in quali, the strat didn't do him any favours also so we'll wait to see if he has an answer to SAI at Suzuka.

His right rear Brembo brake caliper was stuck on the brake disc , followed by extreme overheating an explosion in the pitlane and fire ...

From YouTube and other media site comments I can read the word "Sabotaged"

That's always possible . But , I refuse to believe this ...

MAX was very angry and said : This is so f@cking stupid !!!
But why MAX said that ?
Well ... the pit crew tried to change my tires while my car was on fire !

Leave the conspiracy theories out. It's motor racing. - cars and technology can fail.

Earlier today Verstappen and Hamilton were unfortunate.

We're spoilt nowadays that reliability has increased.

In 1981 and 1982 Prost was getting closer to getting a WDC title with Renault (1981: P5 with a 7-point difference to WDC Piquet | 1982: P4 with a 10-point difference to WDC Keke Rosberg) ...despite an approx. 50% DNF rate for Prost (1981: 9 DNFs out of 15 races | 1982: 9 DNFs and 1 DNC out of 16 races). Renault engine unreliability was a massive handicap for Prost those days. Renault were the pioneers of turbo engines, but struggled to master reliability. Nevertheless, Prost "Le Professeur" still managed to contend for the WDC.

I think stewards have been too hard on ALO, RUS was pushing so hard too late as to not give him any safety leeway knowing it was ALO and he was walking a tightrope without any safety net.
