Traffic Camera Information - keep subscription?

Should I keep it?

I did the free one month subscriptions to both it and BMW Drive Recorder a few weeks ago. Payments to extend them will come due soon.

I was about to post that I had never received an alert from Camera Information, until I finally did yesterday, while driving on a local highway in an urban area. I didn’t see the camera, but maybe it was there.

I have also driven past several speed traps in the last few days, but received no notifications. (I was within the speed limit, so it was moot for me.)

Any thoughts? Do people find it useful? I searched the archives, but didn’t find any recent threads on topic.

I am inclined to pay for Drive Recorder. Any thoughts about it?

I use Waze for red light cameras.

I’m pretty sure mine has been 0% accurate. All alerts were false positives, and never altered to any actual other than a few red light cameras. Waze and JBV1 are a lot more accurate. My location is southeastern WI and Northeastern IL, so it may be better in other locations.

I never got it and I wont. Better other options and I typically drive in the rules.

My Uniden Radar Detector is GPS enabled and free lifetime Speed & Red Light Camera updates. Also has the ability to "mark" locations, ie, roadway speed traps (Vehicles) that might move or be a sneaky location so you don't have to remember it.

One time fee for the device and done. As a matter of fact, in my M240, I tapped the rearview mirror power for the RD and it's a real nice set up.

Good Luck

Waze always alerts me to traffic light cameras and other surveillance here in the states. Where I really found it useful was in Italy, where they seem to have speed limit cameras every couple of miles. Over there, it was indispensable.

No way would I pay for that capability as long as Waze delivers it for free.

I paid for mine. The price is quite low for a year, and where I live I get quite a few notifications. I'm not one to run a red light, but my wife likes to challenge the light here and there

I renewed it after the trial only because I didn’t drive it much during that timeframe. Now that I’ve driven about 5,000 miles I can say I won’t renew any further.

Can you get the BMW camera alerts while running waze at the same time?
