Strange feedback from brake pedal 325i
When I am driving in the rain and the wipers are on, I can feel the movement of the wipers thru the brake pedal. For example, I am stopped at a redlight and my foot is on the brake while the wipers are on..everytime the wipers move I can feel the movement transmitted thru the brake pedal! Is there some kind of connection? Do you guys notice this also? It just feels strange.

What you feel it's the device that dries the brake discs when raining. Just feel safe that your car will be able to stop better when it's rainning
Dont worry about it. You just have to get used to it :rocks: |

So does anyone with a 320d or 320i feel this wiper movement through the brake pedal. If the above theory is correct, I would expect they wouldn't as those 4-cylinder models don't have DSC II (which dries the brake discs when it is raining by moving the pads close to the discs).

Yeah - but since the drying is probably done by the abs module it could be giving an additional pulse whenever the wipers wipe! Seems a bit excessive though - pulsing the brakes everytime the wipers go! We need to find out if the 4cyl models do this too!

I think the rain sensor on the windshield determines the speed of the wipers and motions the brake pads to dry the rotors as well, as some others have said.

So far I find the rain sensor is just annoying (never swipe at the speed I want, I want my intermittent manual adj back !) Door chime and uphill start assist is also annoying. I had a E46 before and I think it gives me just the right amount of gimmicks. The E90 is overdone. However its still the ultimate handling sedan.

I was just about to post a new thread about this very issue until I found this one! Happens to my Euro 325i too. It feels very strange to have the brake pedal pulse in time with the wipers.
Also, I believe that you still can have manual control of the intermittant wipe function via the column stalk even if you have auto wipers.... |

yes, my wipers are very noisy due to zaggered movements just before it halts at horizontal position after returing from every wipe I have complaint to my dealers 3 times and they have been saying i have to use the right screen cleaning solution and keep polishing my windscreen often. Things never improve even i ask my maid to clean my windscreen 2 times a day I finally discover myself the locknut at the end the wiper arm is loosely fitted. I used a adjustable spanner to tighten it and my wipers have been serving me quitely ever since . |

I can feels the wipers pulse through the brake pedal on my new 320d when stationary. So, the above theory about this being related to DSC II's ability to dry the brake rotors when wet doesn't hold as the 320d has DSC I not II.
I have felt this before on cheap American and Japanese cars but am a bit surprised to see this on a newly designed BMW. They should fix this. |

Don't think it's the Brake Drying feature. This can be confirmed by not using the rain sensor. It's the movement of the wiper blades which is causing this pulsing. To me, the pulsing is very minimal. I did not even noticed it before I saw a thread on E90post.com on this. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8592
