Just tried it, seems to be the same one as MCU 20.5.9.10 for me.

New system update, MCU and changelog from Bimmertech. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it looks like it's based on the beta they sent me a few weeks ago:

Hopefully they haven't changed the force update process again.

You will probably have to pull the power connector to get it to force update though as I couldn't get out of the last bimmertech software without doing that.

Nah, just wait until iDrive will go to sleep in a couple of minutes. Easy to spot by a LED on a USB drive - it will stop blinking. I've unbricked it before posting.

I forwarded this to andream and asked them if they could do the same, they replied with "Sorry friend, we will improve our product quality to make you satisfied. Hope your kindly understand."

With the last bimmertech update, no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to force update without removing the power cable.

The carlinkit would force update just by letting the unit power down though.

I noticed that when in the MMI (CarPlay), you cannot hear BMW iDrive Service/ Warnings or Notifications (can hear them if you are out of the MMI). For instance, when I am low on gas (which is all the time with my F80 ), i hear the chime on startup, but if I let CarPlay startup first and then start the car, chime does not come thru MMI (because MMI is outputting CarPlay sounds...which makes sense). Is that a software issue with Andream or a hardware issue?

What I'm asking is, 1: does anyone else have this issue on another box (Carlink, BimmerTech, Andream) and if not, can it be fixed with a software update request from Andream, or just a matter of hardware so it cannot be fixed?

Pretty sure I still hear the dreaded warning when it needs fuel, even when using Carplay.

Will let you know next time I use the car, as it seems to require fuel everytime I go out in it for more than 10 mins

It's the ideal solution for high quality phone calls. I was about to return my unit until Bimmertech sent me the beta disrupting the bluetooth connection to the MMI.

Other than the wonky screen resolution in AA, the unit works really well for me. No crashes or slowdowns, maps work as expected, google assistant is spot on - I'm a happy camper.

FYI - I did find for my unit, changing the screen brightness one tick brighter or dimmer from default, removed all the weird screen artifacts while using google maps.

I have a Bimmertech unit. The mmi does not block any of my factory chimes or warnings - Even while in AA.

Not sure why you keep expecting quality CS from andream/carlinkit/other sellers. If you expect good customer service, don't buy from small/unknown chinese companies lol.
