I always wondered this as it's well known that washer dryers have more issues than washing machines or Tumble dryers, because they have all the systems required to run both. Hybrid cars are the same, as they've got all the things that can go wrong with a ICE car, and then all the new things that can go wrong with an electric car.

On the upside however our 330e had remarkably low running costs beyond just fuel. Oild changes were only asked for every 20000 miles, sometime more, it only needed rear tyres at 50000 miles, and the fronts at 75000 miles, and it when it went back at 83000 miles the brake pads all round were barely half worn (presumably because regen takes a lot of the braking load). And the road tax is minimal.
