Thanks for the opinion. So if I buy an Remus full set exhaust suite for 328i that will be fine? BY the way do you have any experience with armytrix? I like them the most. I also noticed that the old N20 engine do have aftermarket downpipe (e.g. Remus version catted), will they fit the new engine as well? |

I only tried Remus muffler without problem, I'm not sure full set which include more mid pipe, center can fit 100% or not but I see they are quite simple if you have a good garage to help you if they need some small modification such as hangers. I like armytrix very much, their products are excellent in material, best fitment with remote control to give sound options, I wish I have. About old N20 engine downpipe, there are few brand names that you can find here but I love ER most. Downpipe will help reduce turbo lag and bring a monster sound for your exhaust but unfortunately DP of old N20 engine will NOT fit B48 engine. You may try local make, I have contact ER several times but they have not developed for B48 engine yet, only available for B58. I have not taken sound clip on B48 engine, but it quite the same on N20 engine. here is Remus muffler + ER catless downpipe on N20 engine 520i Here is Armytrix on Mercedes C250 |

I got BMS intake of B58 engine (to try for B48 engine)
Measuring BMS outer diameter which is to install, 86 mm But outer diameter of stock intake tube is 75mm Measure BMS inner diameter for reference, 82mm They will not fit each others, I will make a reducer. I'm surprised that why they don't make it as Standard 89mm and 76mm (3.5" and 3") which will fit with many available reducers such as http://www.ebay.com/itm/231697967791...&sojTags=bu=bu |

First attempt was done but it failed!
I tried to find a 86mm to 75mm hard pipe reducer but only 89 to 75mm available The below photo looks not good as I only tried - I used some 3M tape for sealing gap between 89-86mm, the other end fits perfect to air resonator but the filter element almost touched body due to additional reducer lenght...and they look...cheapo also! In order to have better fitment and look good, I think of replacing the air pipe with resonator as some Afe product for N20 engine. This is air pipe with resonator Easy to take it off It needs a flexible pipe from this turbo intake pipe to BMS intake pipe. Measured OD if turbo intake pipe, surprised again...83 mm - but I think it's OK with a coupler silicon hose between 85 to 90mm. Look at ebay I order one 90 elbow and one straight coupler silicon hoses, all 89mm. Between two hoses will be a 89mm hard pipe, I believe they will fit both ends 86mm of BMS intake and 83mm of intake turbo pipe. Nice to see the recent development on B48 engine.
I have just installed the GruppM air intake on my car, fortunately it is not as noisy as some of the other manufacturers. Also I have ordered DTE tuning box, pedel box and FI exhaust with 200cel downpipe. Will keep this update once I got the above installed. |

Hi all,
Just want to update BMS intake mod for B48 engine. After got 90 degree and straight silicon hoses, I tried to install but not success! Photos belows show big gap I measured the resonator I found that it is designed with angle of 135 degree not 90 degree as I though Therefore I have to try again with 135 degree silicon hose - 89mm (3.5") It took time for order and finally arrived today, the right one to order at the right hand side 3.5", 135 degree silicon hose. I can't wait for try immediately, they fit almost perfectly The mod also need a hard 89mm pipe which I use water PE pipe. And here the final: |

Wow.. thats a lot of work to fit an intake. Kudos to your persistence. I've just got my hands on a F30 320i with the B48. My buddy in the Mini is pushing north of 260hp with intercooler, downpipe, exhaust with a remap. Damn potent motor.
Can't wait for the breakin period to get over. Hopefully some of the mini maps will get ported to the 320i by then, provided someone figures out how to map this ECU. Fun fact I found at the dealer going thru the brochure.. its rated at 187hp on 91RON. As the RON goes upto 95-98, power goes up 197. |
