I did a detail this January in my 2018 F30 330e and then a ceramic coat, the car was better than when came from BMW dealer, I will do maintenance of ceramic each 3 month.
Detail and 2 painted rims and ceramic I think was 700€ and ceramic maintenance 60€. And the car looks nice 😃 |

Wmzorba09, did you get ceramic coating applied to your car? How did it turn out? I'm looking to do the same and this thread has helped me gauge expectation (and price).

Overall I am happy with the result and have no regrets. Car looks better, slick and the coating definitely makes the car easier to clean, provides an extra layer of protection and has hydrophobic qualities. In fact it began raining downpour as soon as I picked up my car after getting the coating done and little to no rain/water spotting. Water beaded right off the vehicle. Check out these pics from that day after the rain! |

I just applied Quartz Ceramic coating on my car over the weekend and I am looking fw to the results.
My car got delivered with all the plastic wrapping so the paint underneath was PERFECT and untouched. I still decon and washed it very carefully with foam + 2 buckets. I applied 2 coats and it turned out absolutely great. There is no way I am paying someone $1K+ to apply this. I guess one is really paying for paint correction. My car is a lease and Quartz should easily last 3 years, especially if it is kept up. I can post pictures soon. So yes, it is worth it. My recommendation is that if your car's paint is in good condition, do this yourself and save $$$

But yes, you need the space, some basics and most importantly a perfect paint. Otherwise, it is work for sure.

Good eye. We took it off for a seamless PPF install. It is back on now

I had a multi-coat ceramic pro coating applied to paint, all cerium gray trim/mirrors/grills, and wheels.
The car is Tanzanite II which is of course stunning when clean, but difficult to keep that way. Car stays clean much longer, wash is a simple process and *everything* returns to perfect. I use an automated touch free water/soap wash (no wax), then towel dry with micro-fiber. I have a touch up/quick cleaner solution from the coating manufacturer that I can use between washes for spot clean. Expensive, yes, but this color stays reliably clean for extended periods of time. I'm impressed. |

Had my Tanzanite II M340i coated. Overall, not what I expected. Looks good and smooth but still gets spotty and dirty easy. Wheels still collect brake dust fairly easy. The biggest benefit I see is that it cleans up a a bit easier. On another note, this is pretty soft paint. Have a few chips already. Waiting for Dr ColorChip to make my color.

So I just got the cquartz uk 3.0 coating done on my vehicle and was hoping for some advice. I live in an apartment so no access to a hose I do however have a single car garage. Would my best/only option be to do a rinseless wash in the garage to maintain the ceramic coating or am I better off getting it hand washed by a mobile detailer every 2 weeks or so.

Can anyone explain why they’d bother ceramic coating a lease? First potential lease and genuinely curious why the money would be spent knowing it’ll be turned in after 3 years. Thanks

My car is a lease and has PPF, tint and ceramic coating....... just like all the cars that I own. I do not treat leased cars any different. Ease of care, durability and awesome shine are some of the main reasons for ceramic coating. Ceramic coating costs less than $100 if you do it yourself. On the other hand, why would anyone want to pay for a car wash on a leased car

Sure, IF you can first explain to ME why I or anyone else would want to bother justifying how they spend their own money to you?

1) your leased car will stay clean waaay longer than without ceramic coating. 2) significantly less wash jobs required 3) significantly easier & quicker washing 4) safer driving due to rain repellent properties on all glass surfaces 5) you'l be able to admire the cool beading when the car is wet |

It is the way car enthusiasts are wired. Can't shut that off even when it is a lease.

I am an enthusiast too and have always meticulously maintained my stuff (will continue to detail the lease, etc). I guess its harder for me to swallow that cost when I know its such a short window of ownership. To each their own though!

If BMW ProtectX will last only couple of months, I am sorry but I could not understand why BMW would give lifelong warranty for it.
