I would say the Audi S4/S5 is your best bet... AWD, really quick and a great daily driver. Add APR tune if you think it's too slow.

If you weren't so close minded and said "sure I'll take something 1 year old that's barely used and still under full warranty", I would have said GTR all the way plus that may have opened up a lot of other options.

Evos and Sti's are horrible DD's, anyone that says so clearly hasn't been driving a bmw for the past few years.

Otherwise no options exist for you given such requirements.

And what's wrong with the ISF? Very luxurious, great DD, very fast, undeniably reliable.
Nothing wrong w/a used car. However, I don't keep cars long & can't see myself dropping that kind of coin to buy only to sell it soon after & lose my ass.

What does a new S4 run w/this APR tune? Is it a flash tune?

That has to be the worst reasoning in the world. So it's better to buy a new car and lose even more if you decide to buy a another car later on?

If it has to be a lease then I would definitely say S4 or C63... An S4 with an Apr Pro tune will probably easily run mid 12's... remember it's an awd car with a dual clutch tranny. The APR tune is a bench flash though; I believe you need to pull the ECU and send it into them or have a local apr dealer do it.

Otherwise... you're out of options.

No new options for that price.

Low-mile R35 would be my choice in that price range.

I'm not losing anything. I turn in the lease & walk away.

Links to S4s running mid 12s w/just APR tune?

EDIT: $1,500 for a flash tune?! Wow.

100% stock with female driver. So you can imagine adding another 40 Wheel Horsepower...

Perhaps an exception but it meets your criteria... I cannot help you any further, you have dug a very deep whole with your selections.

Forgot all about it. Are they really only allowing 1,000 to be sold in the US? I doubt the greedy dealers would lease me one at invoice then. I emailed a few dealers anyway!

Just go order a C63 Coupe and call it a day.
Not in the US.

I actually haven't
I never seem to be satisfied with any car.

I drove the S4, S5, CTS-V & GT-R today.

The S5 is out. Compared to the S4, driving it is no fun. It is very obvious that is is bigger & heavier than the S4. Both the S4 & S5 had manual trans. I really had a lot of fun driving the S4. The S4 is so much more nimble. The exhaust note of the S5 is pure sex, though. However, dealers want more than a V to lease one.

I also drove a new CTS-V sedan w/auto trans. No Recaros either. The standard seats offer zero support. Recaros are a must have. The car handled great, but did not feel like an 11 second car. It's also begging for aftermarket exhaust IMO. The ride was great. I really like the new Opulent Blue color.

Last was a GT-R. The gears are SHORT. Obviously to keep the turbos spooled. The car I drove had wheels & exhaust. What a beast. Handled like it was on rails. Interior quality is lacking, but not enough for me to say I don't want the car. The price tag says I don't want it, though. My lady preferred the GT-R. So much so that after I told her I can't justify spending that kind of $ on a car, she offered to help w/the payments. Before the flames start, I can afford it on my own. If I had $ to piss away, I'd buy a GT-R to daily driver & a 911T as a toy.

I was disappointed w/the V. I expected to feel the power a lot more. If the S4 was in the $700 a month area, I might have to jump on it. However, nothing today made me want to buy today.

I'm, most likely, going to wait till Spring/Summer of 2012 to make a move unless my 335xi sells before then. Then when Spring rolls around, strongly consider picking up a beater 4x4 or something & getting a C6 to play with.

I've never heard of short gearing to keep turbos spooled?? Besides its an auto so it's not going to lose boost between gears. Never driven/rid in one so I won't comment but if it's short gears it's usually because all the power is made at the end of the power band. Either way they're damn fast.

Why not look for an x5m/x6m lease takeover. I know it's a bummer and I know it's and suv. But drive one and see if you don't consider it . Hell a tune only one picked like 90whp and 115 wtq iirc. Just sayin

Well it's a DCT but the same logic applies. I think what he means with short gearing is that it is there intentionally to keep the car in the best powerband at all times as I highly doubt the stock GTR turbos hold power to redline like mad men.
