What i love about cars like the M3 is that stock they look great, and perform great. They are already a M modded car. better rims, more aggressive look over most BMWs etc.

although i would still mod the crap out of this car, IMO a modded M3 is epic.

Usually, on my own, I strongly prefer keeping a car bone stock. But the previous owner installed black grills and a Gintani exhaust and I completely love both of those.

So go figure, sometimes you need to be dragged to the right place...

Same can be achieved by being overweight or having your winter gf hang off the back.

As good as it is there are a few things that need just a bit of attention. Thankfully - BMW is happy to take our $$$ to address this. So I have made one change and hope to do one or two more.

1. Stock exhaust is just not the proper match for this car. So I fitted the MPE - perfect! The rev match downshifts are intoxicating now.

2. I think, even in M Mode with ZCP, the traction control is a bit too intrusive. Need to do the research here to find a way to switch to the Euro version of MDM - I understand it allows a little more wheelspin and chasis yaw. Dont need much - just 20-30% more would be great. Again, this is stock and already in our software - just need to find a vendor to help change the setting (without having to buy a full tune).

3. Would like to hear just a bit more intake sound - maybe just a simple BMS (or like) airfilter would allow a bit more sound to exit. Not interested in CAI.

That my friends is it for me.

Drive a car without test pipes. Then drive yours without one.
Sit in a car with tints in a 100F weather. Then do that again in a car without tinted windows.
Drive a car without Servotronic mod. Then drive one bone stock
Drive an M3 with 295 rears, then drive one with 265 rears.

The difference will be pretty glaring.

I can go on and on. My point is, I believe you can make an M3 even better to suit your taste. I love that my car is absolutely unique to me in the way it looks and sound (we don't have many M3's in this area, not counting Performance Center). To me, those mods make the car even that much better, even though I thought the stock was very good. It feels so much more expensive and nicer than what it's really worth.

P.S. All my mods are reversible. Some easier than others, but still

I couldn't leave my e90 stock I got mine with nearly 90k miles so as soon as I go it:

all fluids changed, spark plugs, filters, etc.
new supersports
eibach and bilstein shocks
spacers
oem mod exhaust
clutch stop
gloss black interior trim (couldnt stand wood)
zhp shift knob

All my mods/maintenance really made me fall in love with my m3....I like mods that add function (rather than aesthetic). As others said to each their own

What is the servotronic mod. I don't think I have that.

A remap of the servotronic assist maps. Really helps with that mushy looseness off-center the stock car has.

I think Evolve does it too, but I'm not sure. Servo mod is part of the tune I'm running. Steering is a bit heavier, and to me it feels just damn right. The weight is just so nice, seriously.

That alone to me is worth the price of the tune itself.

I could be wrong, could have sworn Evolve offer it. BPM for sure has it. It's well worth it, seriously one of my favorite mods on the entire car and that is no joke.

No mods here. Not even tint.

I also have an E30. Tirelessly working to get it back to full OEM.

OEM FTW.

I've been a serial modded for years but as I've gotten older, I've got less patience for non OE fit/finish/feel. I think the E92 is pretty damn close to perfect stock. Only mods for me are tint, black grills, angel eyes, + size Super Sports. 5 years ago, I'd have probably done super charger, suspension, etc. Not anymore.

Some like to personalize; some like to wrench and mod; some like to just drive the damn things. I'm now in the 3rd category
