X1/X2 M35i may be next.
It's not clear what they are doing with the 3/4 Series, however a B9 S4/S5, W205/C205 C43, and Q50/Q60 RS competitor would seem to be a possibility. Perhaps a G20 addition rather than F30. I would not be surprised to see the G30 V8 model adopt the M550i name. |

Come on BMW let's have some exciting product information. I want to hear about a relaunch of M with CSL range of cars. Also new G series X3 badly needs an early launch as competitors products now superior.
BMW interiors need an upgrade Only area BMW leads in now is in car SatNav. Every one has caught up on engine technology What happened to the Ultimate Driving Machine?? |

Give M performance separate branding. Stop putting M badges on grilles. Stop loading M cars with unnecessary, heavy tech like electric seats. Make unique engines; not just mildly modded mainstream ones (S55 anyone?). Go all out for lightness. The M2 is a step back in the right direction. |

Hi Scott. Has BMW got anything really exciting for the 100th birthday ?? All pretty low key so far. Brand needs some high octane fuel in it as becoming too mainstream and dare I say a little boring and predictable and I love my BMW's!!

The other important item about BMW’s aggressive new strategy is its plan for the M Performance division. Again, the company didn’t elaborate on the specifics of its plans, opting only to say that it’s looking into “expanding” the entire range of M Performance models, specifically within the higher volume segments. The phrase “higher volume segments” suggests that BMW is talking about the lower- to mid-ranges of its produce lineup, one that includes the 2, 3, 4, and 5 Series families, as well as the X1, X3, and X4 SUVs. Taking some of these buzzwords into the equation, it appears that the German automaker is looking at introducing new M variants for models in these families, opening the door for the possible return of the M3 Coupe, the introduction of an M4 Sedan, and more M-badged crossovers and SUVs in the future. The BMW M7 is also another model that’ll likely come out from this new business strategy as BMW continues to fill up the M Performance division.

That being said, clearly there is room to expand with more M Performance vehicles in the lower end (1 through 4) passenger car and SUV lineup. And there are already 1, 2, X4 models. So, yes, X1, X2, X3, 3, and 4 M Performance models are the obvious direction for possible expansion. No big mystery there. I am pretty sure he meant the latter. |
