Drove it on first out of town outing a couple hours north to Alamogordo to meet up with the ABQ branch of the NM BMWCCA, grab a burger and go to the Space Museum.

No issues, need to fine tune the AC pressures now that it is finally warm enough to do so, but over all went well.

I kind of dig it against the BR exterior.

Friday installed a replacement e70 diversity module as comfort access amd remote weren’t working and wiring was already repaired amd tested still good under the spoiler at the module.

Why e70? E70 are plentiful and are ~$50 for known working modules. E91 module is the same module but $100-200 used in unknown condition.

Saturday jacked up the rear amd pulled the wheels and liner out to install the factory alarm siren, now that the alarm and remote plus comfort access work, also wire brushed the calipers and gave them a lick of paint to make them presentable.

Sunday I took it to cars and coffee meet hosted by some audio/spl guys who are cool AF, had a small contingent of BMWCCA guys show up to support… blew some minds demoing the e90 L7 system with f30 hifi speaker conversion. Imaging is quite good. Needs a bit more TA on left front to widen out but for factory amp amd TA it’s exceptional now that speakers are changed to better ones.

While doing the siren and painting the rear calipers, my son Alex and I discovered that the rear fender lips were already rolled up to 45+ degrees, so that got me thinking…

Now waiting on these massive beauties to arrive from the UK.

I don’t want to slam it so I will probably do the ST coilovers this time.

Yeah. Very oh my. 19x10 et22 (which on LCI would be like et30)

From what I’ve researched it requires a fender roll to avoid scrubbing but otherwise should be no issue. And since they are already rolled I don’t have to feel bad about it, lol.

Fronts are easy-peasy at 18x8.5 et38. Might need an 5-8 mm spacer.

My wife says the Hamanns are too plain looking. But I’ve liked them and AC Schnitzer type 2/3 monoblock for 20+ years.

ACS are far too flat on e36/46/90 fitment and et 15 is too poke, and type 95 poke too much in the front, so these beauties will fill the bill.

Yeah... those 19s are a no for me. Way too big of a diameter, especially with the stock brakes, and the design doesn't really fit the e9x. There are OEM low ET rims from the e60 that fit like the style 135 (18x8 et20), or just get one of the M3 style rims.
But to each their own, I guess.

Appreciate the opinion, ngl felt the same until I saw a pic of an e92 on Hamanns. It changed my mind. And a couple of e6x on them looked good to me as well. It is definitely not the norm, but they give me the right vibes.

Totally agree with you about the stock brakes…
It’ll be getting larger brakes at some point as well, the factory brakes are underwhelming in performance as well as undersized. would love to do f30 340mm brembos up front again and 336mm e9x 335 rears, I swapped the 340/330 f30 335 combo onto my f31 328d (factory 312/300) a few years ago and they were fantastic. But Daaaaaamn, I bought the entire f30 set, front and rear, calipers pads and drilled and slotted rotors 2 years ago for not much more than peopl3 want for jsut the front calipers now!

But bigger brakes don’t play well with 17’s so wheels needed to come first.

Same color e91 being parted out in Michigan I believe as well. Thought I’d share this information.

Well since I’m gonna be in there anyway doing the ST coilovers and PB adjustment might as well do brake upgrade at same time.

Just ordered some 340mm f30 brembo calipers and f30 340mm drilled and slotted rotors like I had retrofitted to my f31d for the front and 335ix 336mm calipers and drilled slotted rotors for the rear.

Just need to grab another can of the burnt copper paint and another clear so I can clean them up, polish out mold lines, then paint and bake them when they come in.

Now if only I could find a lip I actually like for the pre LCi msport bumper, I’d be golden for both interior & exterior, for now.

Let’s say it is stockish, I never truly leave any of my cars fully stock.
