that sounds great. also i find my BMS stag 1 to be jerky at times. it depends on what gear and revs im in. can you comment on the refinement of the Dinan vs the BMS

Was asking the question in X5 board but no response. Does this work on X5 40e?

This boost controller looks tempting if only adding lbs is the purpose using your phone.
Bms stage 1, racechip and others are more sophisticated on what they are doing not only boost. So, who is gonna be the guinea pig? |

I received Dinan's product on Wed. Will be putting it on a dyno next week. Was hoping to do it today, but the shop got backed up and I didn't get a change to have my car tested. I can say one thing though. Build quality of Dinan appears better and more polished than BMS Stage 1. |

Used it for about 50 miles. Car is an otherwise stock 2013 328i 8AT. My butt dyno is quite poor but here are some initial subjective observations:
Comfort is still inhibited by slow throttle response. It seems that above 2200 there's more pep. Around town comfort mode is pretty aggressive about up shifting, so you rarely get in that band. Sport definitely has something extra. It responds quicker when you get in throttle. There's no earth shattering acceleration, but it noticeable over stock. Power delivery seems the same. I didn't run it up through the rev band (you break laws pretty quickly as is), but I haven't experienced any anomalies in normal driving. My goal is to dyno stock, Dinan and BMS Stage 1 on the same day on the same car and share with the community. |

Dinan_Engineering bringing up the "fitment" discount for a 320i...did that happen with the other forum member? If not, are you still open to it as I've decided to purchase the DINANTRONICS Sport. Thanks.

Already working with another member. Good news is it obviously works. Bad news is the reporting on the app is wonky on the 320i. Trying to work out what exactly is causing that issue.

No worries. Does the app work correctly with changing settings? Is just the logging and reporting affected? I'd probably just set the tune (or accept defaults) and forget it.

It appears that all the functional steps work fine and switching between the vvarious modes is unaffected its the display aspect (the boost gauge itself) that appears to be reporting wrong data.

I am testing it on my 320i for Dinan and will be doing a full write up here in a few days.
As noted the app seems to be doing odd things on the 320i currently, that being said the product is extremely well made, install takes about 1 min with the longest part being where to mount it lol. After a couple days , still on only 91 and around 120 miles with it, it has really awoken the car. I have not noticed any jerking or negative side effects on the car yet. Once the app issues are sorted the car will be on a dyno to show each setting and the gains.\ Also the outside temp the last few days here in Tucson has been 100-104, I have driven the car during the hottest part of the day and performed perfectly. |

If you coded SAT & Sports+ to car that didn't come with it from the factory (different GWS module) will this tune be compatible?
How is fuel mileage affected by this tune?

MPG is minimally affected if driven the same as pre-tune. The problem is people tend to gain about 15 pounds in their right foot when they get a tune so they are in boost more and thus burn through more fuel. Once your driving style goes back to normal you should see a minimal difference in fuel economy. While we don't do any fuel economy testing I think its safe to say that during that honeymoon period when you are on it more you will be losing 2-3 MPG. |

2013 328i. 92 octane Chevron. Runs were done in 5th gear (1.285 ratio) in Sport+. Dinan unit at factory setting of + 3PSI. Ambient temp in the shop 92-94F during 1hr session. Humidity 15%. Dynojet 428 at Carb Connection in Kirkland, WA. Run files are available here. 3 best runs with BMS vs 3 best runs with Dinan. They overlay pretty well, except for best Dinan run picking up torque between 2-3k. It probably has more to do with my in-experienced dyno foot than the chips. Not going to lie, looks like the Dinan creates more torque earlier and more power earlier, while the BMS has just a very very slight boost over the Dinan later in the rev range. Dinan looks like it would be more drivable with more torque lower down. Thanks for posting this!
