Indeed Wills. Ah the GT4 is a bombproof motoring reference.

I do agree but most owners of 'from new' conveniently leave out the £200k of other Porsche's they've needed to buy first.

Kinda skews the figures a bit more.

I referenced this thread to a friend, who had bought 2 x 991 2 x Cayenne S 1 x Macan S and a 991.2 GT3 (used at OPC for overs) before they offered him a GT4 build slot, that's some business model.

I was offered a GT4 build slot in December. It would have been for a Q3 delivery. Nothing for the Spyder in 2021 though. I think the taps have definitely been opened compared to back in 2015/16 with the 981 GT4. The overs on that were crazy.
I suspect the new GT3 will be more akin to your friends situation.

I think he only got the offer due to the 718 GT4 not being as popular, big city centre dealership and he was behind some big spenders, he said no to it working on the premise they had offered it because others had passed on it.

They did lead him down the garden path a bit

Few low mileage 718 GT4’s available at the moment, was asked if I was interested in one today....
And I’ve never owned a Porsche.

The GT4 is no longer so exclusive to get. I know 2 guys got one and both had only bought one Porsche before, a Cayman and a Boxster for the other guy.

Yeah but isn't a low mileage one second hand? There's always about 20 or so of these knocking around.l and that's always been the case. Factory build usually quite different.

I agree the current GT4 is easier to get hold of an lad without Covid production I think it was almost possible to achieve a a lot with a phone around.

992 Turbo S's are still an 18 month wait unless your willing to pay over list.

My neighbour two doors away has just changed his black M3 for a 2016 black Porche Caymen GT4 last weekend.

He says that his M3 needed pads and discs and tyres and it was going to cost him a couple of grand at least, so took the plunge and went for the Caymen. I have to admit, it does look like a step up.

Yes just haven’t been looking at them so surprised it was ‘easy’ to get one.
I’m not sure how they are priced relative to when new either.

There is a nov 19 718 GT4 on the AUC site @ 78k vs a new retail of 88k with 7.5k miles on it

That's not a whole lot more than 981 GT4 that are 4 years older. Demand and supply are a lot better matched than they were for that first GT4. Will be interesting to see what the longer term residuals are like.

A Spyder went for about £80k in the last month. It was Guards Red and the photos were awful, too exposed and made the red look awful, it was on for ages from about £89k and dropped a few k every few weeks.

I still have a boner for a Spyder but I think would have to be new, so yeah, there's that and I'm not in the house with a double garage yet, would want it out of the rain.

Does everyone believe the mileages, can you spoof a modern Porsche? I know some of these are toys for the uber rich and a 4th car etc, but some on there...hmm 2 years old 3 owners and 2000 miles has me pretty suspicious. Apparently some buy them for a little trip to south France and back and that's it? That was the car ownership. Hmmm again.

I imagine that is where Sennen is currently, only got the Fabia for the France trip. Big mistake not getting the special 'Air Con' limited edition but hey ho, he's enjoying himself, why not!

Yes just realised about the GT4, was browsing you tube and watched a video of someone speccing what looked like the exactly same car that I was sent details about. So there kindly letting me have it for about list price 12 months on

I’m doubtful now since I will need to daily it, even with my low mileage commutes.
Would be very top top budget and then I have service/ running costs....

Also wondering about whether to jump in on the GTS 4.0 now or wait till the PDK becomes available....

PDK is out now too. For DD its definitely the 4.0 cracking package.

I believe the mileages, as most of these are indeed 3rd cars. Especially when you consider that we've been in lockdowns for much of the last year.
However, I would expect that many of the GT4s, especially ones with the Clubsport package, to have seen track use. 2000 miles could easily be 10 track days!

Looks like it would need to be ordered, none showing on AT , all manuals.

Will see what delivery times are like, knowing me if it’s too long I’ll change my mind umpteen times before delivery.

Yes if you can sell them on for a little or no loss then it’s ‘cheap’ track days ...

Some only have a few hundred miles on them too.

I need to stop looking

I think that red one is a nice spec and a keen price 918 seats, club sport, GT4 interior theme (full leather dash etc..)

Could always change the wheel colour if gold isn't your thing.
