Hey I’m in a similar situation as others. Have NBTevo_N and trying to get full screen CarPlay. Tried coding it with bimmercode but I’m getting a white screen. Was wondering if someone could help me out

I have same problem. I have patched my ID4 to ID5 with ID6 interface but Apple CarPlay was in split screen mode. ESYS activation only made half of the screen white.

I asked Wibbles for help, sent him my VIN and he kindly helped me, with detailed description.

Not without either flashing to ID6 or changing the headunit

Flashing to ID6 is not too hard but your headunit is not designed to run the ID6 firmware so there will be random rebooting.

Pay someone that knows what they are doing to flash it.

Hello wibbles, if you’re still around and offering assistance, could I also request some help? Read through this forum about a year ago and have had it in mind for a while. Just recently had the dreaded SOS call failure issue so now have an OBD reader and bimmercode, so thinking it would be nice to expand my CarPlay to fullscreen whilst I’m picking up new skills!

You would need to have NBT_Evo_X or Y to code with bimmercode - other wise you would need an enet cable and PC to enable.

I’m NBT version V so thought I’d probably need a cable but that’s fine, I can pick one up.
I’ll have to lookup my VIN later and ping it over, also I’m new here so sounds like I might need to get a few more posts in before I can DM.

As far as I understood, the first step in obtaining Carplay would be buying it from the Connected Drive store? I have NBT_evoV but no carplay.

Hi Wibble, I've been monitoring this discussion and I'm unsure if this is the right place for assistance. In short, I used the full-feature installer and everything worked flawlessly. However, when I had to take it to the dealer to flash back to OEM, and then flashed it again, everything worked perfectly until I flashed back, and now I can't connect. I can see CarPlay, everything seems fine, but it fails to connect. Interestingly, when I disable full screen, it connects without any issues.

Unpair the car from the phone and the phone from the car - delete pairings in both devices then re-pair and it will work

Do you mean purchasing generated activation code elsewhere? How does that correlate with the warranty?
