To find the M3 that I wanted was harder than I thought. There aren't many sedans available but I am very happy with the car.

Funny we have very similar experience. Bought my CPO '11 e90 a few months ago for $52.5k with similar options but Jerez Black / red int. Mine had 19k miles though.

It was tough finding one close to home. 19k miles is nice. I was trying to find a car with low miles but it's slim pickings. I found mine out in Long Island. Otherwise I was going to take a look at a coupe with 9,000 miles or I would've had to drive to Pennsylvania.

Where you able to negotiate down the price at all? It took me a couple of hours to make the deal. They we're asking $55,000 and every time they came back the financing options changed to bring the price down but the sale price was the same. Finally at the end when it looked like it was just going to have to walk out they came down a bit.

I agree low mileage sedan was surprisingly hard to find esp in the dead of winter in late jan. I think they asked 55k then moved to 54k then closed at 52.5k.

I would have loved to go the coupe route ... my kids would have been unimpressed though

Nice job on getting the price down. They won't CPO the car even if you pay for it? If not, just get 3rd party extended warranty. Just use the search feature here at it's been talked about extensively. Good luck.

How can you tell for sure if the vehicle has the competition pack? I've been looking and it's hard to tell just by seeing if they only have the competition wheels. What else is a giveaway to this? (I don't trust to only ask the dealer)

Get the vin and plug it in here.... http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html . Competition package will be listed towards the bottom if it was included. You will be able to see every option configured with that car.
