Also the pad sweep isn't the best with c63 pads. I spoke to MLT engineering and he said the calipers can accept different pad profiles from GTRs, SRT8 JEEP, CAMARO ZL1, CTVS, Challengers. Has anyone tried before I search them all up lol
Interested in this kit if full pad sweep is attainable (subscribed)

They all look pretty much the same except those all have less pad material thickness so pad life will be less than the AMG pads at 17mm, none have a greater height to cover more of the rotor surface.

quoting this post from earlier in the thread and shamless plug... i'm selling my Alfa kit, which i believe is a tad more effective than the AMG kit. More info on that also in this thread.

Alfa caliper also does not provide full pad sweep I believe?

i thought it was more on pad choice not the caliper... comparing the amg, alfa, maserati brembos

Yea I think ill just leave what I have. The 360mm seems to have better pad sweep but id rather have a larger rotor.

Just posted this update in my build thread but I thought I would share it here since this thread was what ultimately lead me to this kit.

It's been just over a year since I signed up for the BBK group buy that ultimately ended up falling through. In that time I did a good bit of research into what the best OEM+ retrofit kit would be. I knew I did not want to shell out for a full Brembo BBK. I also knew I wanted to utilize FCP Euro's lifetime replacement warranty on rotors to help save on running costs long-term. Initially I was pretty set on the full F8x M4 retrofit but after doing some homework decided I didn't love the idea of having to replace the front spindles (increasing ride height) for a marginal increase in braking performance. I knew the M4 rear rotors/calipers were a direct bolt on so really the front brakes became the focus. I dug into the BBK retrofit thread (here) and saw some had good luck with the Alfa Giulia 6 piston front calipers. The only issue was a poor pad sweep. I tried sourcing these myself without much luck. I then stumbled upon MLT Engineering on Instagram and saw their fleet of M3s running the C63 AMG front calipers (w204). These are beefy as hell and I believe piston size increases by roughly 7%. The pad sweep was better than the Alfa's and they were readily available. I commissioned MLT to source the full set of calipers, rebuild, and refinish with custom painting to my liking.
Thrilled with how they came out. I went ahead and sourced OEM F8x M rotors for all four corners from FCP Euro, pads, and caliper hardware.
I have install scheduled for next Thursday at my go-to local shop. Cannot wait to see how it all comes together and report back on stopping power, brake feel, etc.

Super cool. Thank you for posting this. Excited to hear your thoughts once you get the instal completed.

How much was the total for the calipers and work completed?

Where did you read this? I have not seen that the AMG caliper has better pad sweep.

EDIT: NM, looks like ya'll are referring to the f8x rotors and not our 360mm. if anyone has seen these side by side, they are nearly identical minus the where the brakeline falls in.

Total for rebuilt/refinished calipers was just over $3k

Right I'm planning on running the larger 380mm F8x rotors*.

That's more sweep than the Alfa setup by few mm. Seems like your pad sweeps all 3 cross drill holes. Whereas the Alfa is just on the cusp of doing so.

Don't get me wrong the brakes are great and EBC Yellows are good for a streetpad once up to temp. I wasn't able to find pad option that yielded bigger sweep area unless some else has?

Which pad are you using? The stock alfa pad? There is another pad with more height that will increase the swept area.

According to the seller, he will be modifying the brackets so that there will not be any shaving or cutting needed.

All the BBK require you to cut the dust / heat shield. What's the problem?

I don't believe all BBK kits require cutting the rear shield.

You sure? Maybe not repurposed caliper kits but the actual BBK with 4 piston rear caliper will have bigger brackets vs oem.

The shields cut with tin snips. It's a nonissue.

Somehow I thought the M4 retrofit didn't require cutting the rear heat shield. Might be wrong though.

Either way, I'd have no problem with a quick snip snip.

The dust shields are not the concern. If you watch the video it requires grinding down and burring the spindles and mounting points themselves.
