Heck if I could get my hands on a 340 wagon, then I’d tweak the b58 engine, add kw’s and those rims with similar offset and it would be pretty nice. If I could only get a 340 wagon, stick would be a bonus. I could even live with x-drive being I’m in canuckistan. It wouldn’t have those flaired fenders nor the front/rear/hood though and couldn’t fit the wide tires either...arrrgh. Maybe have to go x3m with a drop? Is that even possible, I’ll go through the x forums to find out.

An M car bodyshell has 2 extra Little brackets(£20 each) one each side for the front cradle, 2 extra brackets for the rear exhaust back box. Every bodyshell has the hole for 6sp manual transmission, with Dct it has a plastic blank over the hole. Obviously the rear arches are wider but there cosmetic. Everything from the F80 just bolted straight in. |

Businesses is all about numbers, if BMW think it would sell they would have done it, but their past experiences told them no. Of course some might say every car generation is different, perhaps F10 or F90 would fare differently, maybe so, but I guess BMW doesn't want to be bothered with it. |

I am surprised a niche tuner hasn't supported this market with regular wagon to m wagon conversions. Seems like they could easily crank out 100+ cars / year.

I think when it comes down to it there are not enough willing to pay the money the conversion would cost.

The F81 is money... I just picked up my F31 and I'll be looking to do this transformation to mine soon. Only difference is that I'll run the full PSM Dynamic carbon kit like I ran on my F80.

But the reality is that once people start seeing how much it really costs to build.. they probably won't be as gung ho about the process.

As you saw with Ford, there's little appetite (in their eyes) for estates. I'd personally love to have an E63 estate at some point. Gorgeous vehicles. |
