Smile I'd Like To Share Something Most Special With You All...

We recently celebrated my beloved Grandmother's... 100th BIRTHDAY! Of course these picture was taken in the one place that is her home away from home and where I was brought up in since I was born, her Church. It is a Dallas Historical Landmark today. I was raised over half of my childhood with my grandmother. But the impact she has had on my life and character is immeasurable! We speak daily and we bring her over our home to spend time with her Great Grandchildren my 2 sons once a month+. She is fully independent and lives alone in the house my dearly departed Grandfather built for them over 60yrs ago. Never forget your grandparents or elderly family. They can be the greatest source of history and love you may ever know. And God willing, if and when you or I live to be anywhere near this age, we too will want and cherish our own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren love and company.
It is simply amazing to stop and think that this amazing woman has been here among us for ONE CENTURY!
She has, is, and will continue to be an inspiration to my family and I and all who know and love her. If you have ANY doubt to the power and grace of our almighty GOD, look no further than the historic and blessed life of this Angel right here...

We celebrated the entire weekend with a surprise birthday party at my home with special guests including her Doctor, Pastor, Family and more!
My special gift to her... Arranging for a local News media interview that was aired and we received copies on DVD of the extended interviews of she, myself, wife and kids. We will cherish always...

Thank you! Sorry to hear that. One thing that I take to heart and share with my own children is cherishing your elders! You never know the day or hour when they or we will be called... Take nothing for granted.

I am also compiling her memoirs and plan to write and have published her story.

Thanks guys! @PINeely... That is EXACTLY what I try to fathom buddy and I simply can NOT! I am 43 and in great health and I can not even begin to feel what it would be like in another 40 much less nearly 60yrs from now. Truly Incredible.
Oh and she also had not one but 2 siblings who both lived to be 98.

Thanks for sharing TXSTYLE! Hopefully you've inherited the longevity genes from her... Your grandmother looks great for her age. Makes me wish all the more that my grandparents were still alive.

One Century= Respect, Absolutely

It must be cool to have grand parents near by.
I Just have a grandfather that's 96 half way around the world, that i see every decade or so. He still smokes 2 packs a day and drinks wine and Ouzo like a sailor.

We've shared many photos over my short life. This being my favorite of us. She is the kind of grandmother stories are made of. It is only befitting I put her story on paper for others to share.
Thank you.

She looks great for her age! My grandfather passed away last month at the age of 96. There are not many people around at her age so take the opportunity to document her life experiences and stories.
