Surprisingly, that's what happened to me as well. My M3 is the best bang for the buck compared to the GT3 RS that I really want, so it was to be....

When I was probably 5 years old I would go with my Dad in his '85 E28 5er down to the local automtive shop where he would buy detailing products. We would usually wake up around 6am go get some breakfast, then go buy some detailing products. The palce also sold BMW models and clothes. I got a little kids members only style jacket with the BMW roundel on it, probably wore that jacket into the ground I loved it so much. From that moment on I was hooked!

I always loved the purposefully built BMW's starting with the E46. Taking the Munich factory tour is what threw me over the edge. Highly recommended for those of you that are going to be in that area.

i got a good one.

when i was little, both my parents worked on saturdays. so my grandfather would come over with his delphingrau e30 325is and babysit my sister and i. at the time i was only probably 8 or 9 and had no idea what it really was. all i knew was that it wasnt like anything else i was used to riding in. it was never just a regular car. it was always grandpas BMW. the thing that always attracted me to that car was the fact that it had red leather. with the gray outside it looked truly stunning.
one day he came over and was working on it in the driveway with the hood up. for those that dont know, the e30 hood opened backwards, from back to front. ill never forget when my uncle said to me "a real car's hood opens like that."
fast forward to 1998 when my grandfather sold his e30 to a friend and upgraded to a 528i (which was the first BMW i ever drove). it turned out that his friend was involved in a serious accident with the e30 and i believe it was totaled. when i got the news i was devistated. i really felt a peice of my childhood, and the reason im so into cars was gone.
fast forward to the morning of july 18, 2009. this was the day i finally got to see the E92 Msport 335i i ordered. the color- space gray and coral red..... just like grandpas e30. it really is more than just a car for me.

IMO that vehicle was the best BMW ever made for its time!

It all started in 5th grade, I saw my brother come home with his gray 1995 325i with chrome rims that came with the coupe version of the car. Well, about 7 years later I was handed those keys as my first car and I loved it. Practical, nice looking and fun to drive and it has the light gray interior that was pretty nice. I had the clear corners and the back white lights. A year later, I added a Sony Xplode subwoofer and an amp and I enjoyed every minute of it until it started to overheat and had various other problems. Sold it finally for $5,000 with 67,000 miles on it. Car was in pretty bad shape.

A couple years ago I was in the market for a used car (Upgrade from my Nissan Exterra). I was seriously set on a white G35 coupe, but when I arrived at the dealership and test drove it, I soon realized it wasn't what I thought it was. The interior was cheap as hell, the leather felt like plastic, the drive fell felt like a mini van... ect ect.

My father made a remark, "Lets go over to the Lexus dealership and see what they have on their pre owned lot". I wasnt too excited when my dad pointed out a JB 325xi and was a breath away from saying lets move on, lets go... as a sales man approached me. Turns out he had just got the job and recently quit at a BMW dealership. He kept on saying, "Oh you must drive it... you must drive it, you just dont understand the dynamics involved in these cars"

So I took his word, after the second turn I KNEW it was the car for me... That was that.

After a year of driving the car and loving every second of it, I realized I wanted a little bit more HP under the hood. So, I sold my 2007 GSXR 600 along with my e46 and managed to get my AW 335i...

Needless to say, I will be in BMW's for some time to come. They are simply amazing. More than cars.

^No seriously, Im infatuated.

My first Bimmer was a 1982 320iS in black. I loved that car. Put on 96K before I had to put her to rest. The car had blacked out everything, including black anodized bumpers, chrome trim and windows. Only 95+ Hp with free flow headers and Anza exhaust but boy was she fun to drive.

Back before I knew anything about cars, I was a freshman in highschool and I was waiting for the bus one day and saw an E46 M3 in space gray. I didn't know what it was at the time but every morning I saw it on my way to school. I went to the computer lab one day and read about the car and I was instantly slain. I had to have a bmw.

I remember seeing my first BMWs, 2002s and E21 3-series, growing up in Lebanon and how different they looked than anything else on the road back then. I was around 6 or 7 years old at the time, and I noted with interest the release of every subsequent 3-series until I was a teenager, at which point I started appreciating more of BMW's product range.

In college, I remember reading an issue of Car & Driver that remarked that the E36 M3 was the best handling car in the world at the time. I also remember drooling after the various Alpine White, Dakar Yellow, and Estoril Blue E36 M3s that were parked in and around college (I'll never forget the aftermarket exhausts with the twin tips that pointed sharply upwards on those cars).

After graduating, I went to buy my first car. I was looking to buy something in the Integra GS-R/Eclipse GS-T/Probe GT price range, but I also test drove the E36 M3 and the first generation Z3 just for shits and giggles. The M3 was an amazing car, but waaay out of my price range.

About four years later, I paid off my first car and started looking for an upgrade. The E46 M3 was launching that year, so I put down a deposit for one. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the finances work at the time, so I got my deposit back and picked up an S2000 instead. I loved my S2000 to death, but I always looked at E46 M3s on the road with a sense of wonderment.

Eight years after picking up the S2000, my finances were such that I could comfortably get behind the wheel of an M3, so I special ordered one during the best possible time to buy a car (tail end of '08) and am currently happily in love with my E92 M3.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

In the summer of 2005 I was looking for my second car. I had my mind set on an 02 Jetta, black on black. I had test driven the car before but on my way back to the dealership to buy it, they sold it! I saw they had a high mileage 2000 323i, also black on black, for around the same price. I took a chance on it and fell in love. The car drove much nicer than the Jetta even though it had 114,000 miles. I actually didn't end up having too many problems with it. I've been a bimmer guy ever since!

Back in '98, my sis was dating this unimaginable bastard, who had a brand new M3 sedan that his parents bought for graduation. He hated the car, because his heart was set on a benz, and because it was a stick, and he couldn't drive it smoothly. At the time I knew NOTHING about BMW's, other than the owners were supposedly pricks, and that they supposedly handled well, for sedans.

My first chance to drive his M3 came after a BBQ cookout, where he had had too much to drink. My sis couldn't drive a stick, so he tossed me the keys, and they plopped in the back seat. Needless to say, I was blown away; the sound of the engine, the tight, perfect steering, the smooth shifter.....it was easily the nicest car I'd ever driven at the time.

After that, I was hooked. It took YEARS before I finally joined the family, but only because my dumb ass listened to people who told me how 'horrible' German cars are.

I've loved cars ever since I was old enough to hold a Matchbox car in my hand. I first noticed BMW's in the late '80's as a kid when I heard the exhaust note of an E24 6 series drive by. It just sounded so different from everything else on the road. I then discovered the E30 M3 and decided that at some point I would have to own an M3.

I almost bought a '96 M3 with 36,000 miles in 2003, but couldn't justify the price compared to a new WRX. When prices on E46 M3's started coming down I began my search for one, but then I learned the 135i was coming to the US and the rest is history.
