Arrow The Road to Nurburgring...

I saw this on Save The Ring (STR) http://mikefrison.com/2137 today. A documentary about this man's trip to Nurburgring with some of the history and ongoing troubles for the world famous race course. I think its a very cool video worth your time.

Save The Ring!

Thanks for posting this. Definitely some of the best memories of my life were spent here at the Nurburgring.

Even though I just got back I'm ready to go again. I guess I will have to wait till next year to make my annual Save The Ring pilgrimage (4x in a row)

He makes a comment about the track being empty, but besides race days, how often are there crowds at a track?

I've been able to visit the ring at least once a year ever since 2010! Still haven't booked my trip for this year, but it's sort of a promise I made to myself! Hahah

Last year I went on July and November, and the second time nbr looked like a ghost town! I was the only guest at the hotel, as a matter of fact! I even managed to go on a tourist session on the gpstrecke all by myself! It was a really good drive!

It's definitely my favorite place on earth, and I dream of driving on the 24 hour race one day!

Great vid too!

What am awesome video. Long but worth watching. I can't believe how some of these racers can do 150 laps in the 24 hr race with no street lighting. Or the career 10,000 laps! Damn I just want to go around once!

Thank you for sharing the video. Having driven there, I share the same feelings as the maker of the video. It's one of my favorite places in the world and I'll definitely be going back there soon.

Definitely one of my fondest memories for sure. I'll never forget, putting the card into the machine and the gates opening. And realizing, I'm on the Nurburgring. It was incredible.

Great video. Went to visit the Nurburgring last year and drove on the track as well - it is a place definitely filled with great memories. Highly recommended for those that like cars / racing / speed!

Anytime the weather is nice!

More so on nice afternoons it is crowded. Word is out about the 'Ring! Its not unusual to see cars from as far away as the UK and Sweden in the parking lot! I have also seen US tag'd cars shipped over just to drive on the 'Ring(& drive over here for six months).

My wife and I took a ride in the ring taxi this past summer, and what an experience. Unfortunately, I did not get the experience of going and driving it myself.

I hope that one day, I will be able to return, and drive it on my own.

The Ring is a benchmark race track. It must be saved.

We drove our new F30 335i on the 'ring last October on our way to Wurzburg and I have to say it was the most incredible driving experience thus far. Like the guy in the video I memorized the track via Forza 4 and it helped a lot. However, nothing quite prepares you for the vertical g forces experienced in some of the rapid elevation changes on the track.

It really is a one of a kind race track that no other course can even come close to comparing.

Cool video.

I remember Sabina taking me out in an M5 about 10 years ago around the track.
She's an unbelievable driver. She was on the phone at one point, sill shitting me up whilst having a chat on the phone.
