What happened to the i3 and i8 carbon chassis development?

I’d say a first of its kind 1000hp quad motor electric m3 would deserve such a treatment to keep the weight in check.

I would speculate a move like that would be reserved for the more expensive M5 first. Still, it wouldn’t make a world of difference to the overall weight, probably a reduction of a few hundred pounds, so you might see an EV version come in around the same weight as an ICE, or Model S Plaid minus 200 lbs or so.

Cool, but not game-changing.
