ST fiesta looks like it could be a good fun cheap daily driver for crappy weather, long work commutes, traffic, and winter snow.

I have never really cared much for Matt Farah. I mean he has done a few good videos, but most of the time I feel he is just so full of himself.

Anyway, just remember this review was done by a man that has (or has had) a Ford F-150 Raptor and a Chevy Volt.

I don't know, but whatever shred of confidence Matt Farrah had left went out the window with this review.

I get it. The Fiesta ST is a great car, but that doesn't mean the M3 has to be a mediocre car, which is the impression I got from Matt's comments. When he said (4:10), "Revving it out isn't really... an adventure. You don't feel boost building. It's nothing... it's nothing to write home about, honestly," I almost closed the video.

In matters of subjective review, there is something called professional consensus. Professional consensus is the commonly held view of individuals who engage in said subjective measure as their profession. In other words, they hold some authority on the matter. Professional consensus is that the S54 engine is one of the best naturally aspirated, straight-six engines ever built. It revs to 8,000 RPM, has a wonderfully flat torque curve, and makes a very characteristic sound. That Matt can experience this engine with such a lack of enthusiasm tells me that he lacks taste in engines.
I found the S54 to be terribly boring after driving 335's for three years. I agree with him.

I mostly agree with him concerning dbag BMW drivers. I live near Glendale where "live with your parents and spend all of your money on your car and cigarettes" gives all nice cars a terrible name. Then I go east to San Gabriel and that car sub culture is literally to rice out a German sports car. It's hard for someone from LA (the reviewer) to have the respect of BMW that someone from basically anywhere else might have. I see ten M3's on my way to the supermarket and they are all terribly customized.

He brought up his Audi at a moment, as he was driving the m3. So I guess he was against the M3 due to the driver that comes with it... BMW vs. ford + Audi fan boy

Now, I wonder why they didn't compare the MCS to the E 46 M3 (OK I know, it wouldn't make the same kind of headlines and pit domestic buyers vs import buyers).
It's hard to get into a MCS for under $25k new, and ST is Fords high brand. A JCW MC would cost too much but would be the closer comparison.

A MCS is pricier than a Fiesta for sure (and for good reason), but you can get one with a 6 speed, Sport package, Xenons, nice 17" wheels, bonnet stripes for about $ 25k sticker. The JCW is priced more but offers a lot more performance than the Fiesta.

And with the upcoming 2014 MCS sporting a N20 engine, the performance and the tuning potential is way higher - think 300 HP tuned and 2600 lbs!!

Cool video. Having owned a Fiesta for four years before buying my BMW I can safely say that the performance and handling of the Fiesta is awesome. I was torn between getting on the BMW ownership ladder and getting a new Fiesta ST but ultimately my childhood dream of owning a BMW won out. Both cars in the video are very cool and feel great to drive. Badge and BHP snobbery is really annoying and kills the fun of it... as much as people commenting who haven't driven or lived with these cars.

Yep- that N20 MCS is going to be freaking fun. It would be wild with AWD.

How is this a comparison.

Let's go compare my 2009 e92 to a 2014 R8. So stupid...

Is this a joke?

I watched it til the part when he said the steering feels better than the E46 M3...he clearly knows nothing about driving.

He forgot a couple of things to mention as well:

1. A hot chick wouldn't be caught dead in a Fiesta...can you imagine showing up to valet in a bright red Fiesta? FYL.

2. That Fiesta might have cost $22,000 new, but in 6 months its probably worth $14,000. That M3 will be worth $20k still in 6 months.

3. Sure maintenance is an issue...E46 M3s are pretty pricey to keep running. But considering you are comparing it to a vehicle who's company should have gone out of business 5 years ago? Ford must be making quality products...*cough*

Tell this fat Seth Rogan wannabe to drive that piece of sh!t off a cliff...that way we won't have to see his next video comparing a 2008 M3 coupe to a Dodge Dart SRT...

LOL @ the butt-hurt and extremely insecure BMW fanboys.

Videos like this are fun and interesting. The E46 M3 is an old car and of course normal cars are going to catch up with its capabilities a decade later.

The insecurity of BMW drivers is what is causing most of you to entirely miss the point of this video.

This is what Matt is saying and is no different than what 335i tuned onwers have been saying for years. The FEELING of fast is just as important as being fast. That is why you have so many complaints of exhaust not being sporty enough.
A tuned 335i out accelerates an E46 M3 pretty easily. The Fiesta ST is a 6.7s 0-60 car. Any way you slice it, the E46 M3 is getting to 60 MPH almost 2 seconds faster. Even when you factor in the turbocharger torque, your butt dyno is going to tell the difference by a good margin. Farrah is just dramatizing.

I owned a 135i and have driven an E46 M3. IMO, my 135i felt quicker than the M3, even though I know the M3 was just as fast. I also owned a 2006 GTI 2.0T, which was a 6s 0-60 car. The difference between that car and the M3 or 135i was night and day.

I'm going to go drive a Fiesta ST this weekend, because based on the amount of "fun factor" everyone is granting it here, I'm hoping I can rent it out as a cure for depression on weekends.

Its a price point comparison......

The cars are also similar performance wise, your E92 wont touch the R8 ever.
