That's what I initally thought, too, but my now impression is that it's more complicated than that and also has to take into consideration which axle(s) is/are driven (i.e. FWD vs. RWD vs. AWD) ...

Nah, he knows his way around the track and how to do it quickly. I think I need to drop some weight as I'm weighting down the car.

The splice is a manufacturing defect. That rotating tires paper from Tire Rack is kind of crap. Toyo owns Nitto.

Toyo had issues with the RR which are supposedly made on the same production line as the NT01.

You might be able to get a replacement. The process I used is in this thread. That tire isn't bad at all though. I've seen much worse.

This was on an inner front that was not getting loaded due to direction and basically slower track.

From where? Did you check Discount Tire's ebay site? I got NT01s that were on backorder everywhere else at that time AND saved $100 on 2 tires.

Yup. Checked everywhere. Picked up 2 for the $100 off deal. I have the set with 4 days that I just flipped, a brand new mounted set and 2 more unmounted tires. I hear no more production til Spring. Same problem with 305/35-18 rears for the GT3. I may put her on Hoosiers for COTA to stretch things out. TWS is too rough to waste Hoosiers.

Maxxis RC1s might be a good option to try. Not too far beyond an NT01, similar price.

Toyo RRs are essentially the same tire...another option.
