TSB

Is anyone getting warranty letter in the mail for your out of warranty car? Looks like I'm getting something today based on USPS informed delivery. Not sure if it's the extended emissions warranty like with the fuel tank.

It's most likely spam from a 3rd party warranty company. I get them all the time, just tossed one three days ago.

It looks like it's from BMW as it says it on the envelope through the clear plastic window on the envelope, but the address isn't in NJ, also how did they get my info?

Looks like its extended warranty for the PCV valve which causes smoking while idling, since I had this replaced they will reimburse me.

Maybe the early ones. Looks like I have 15year/150K on both the gas tank and the PCV valve. Since I did the entire head cover maybe they will just reimburse me for the whole thing though I'm pretty sure you can get just the part by itself. Looking forward to getting the check in the mail, since stealership charges an arm and a leg, but good thing I did it there or I might not be getting reimbursed.

The same valve cover is listed for all B58 engines through 2019. The PCV isn't listed by BMW as a separate part, only as part of the valve cover. You can get aftermarket PCVs for $15. I suspect that with this warranty extension BMW will add the PCV as a separate part.

Got my fuel tank replaced under warranty. They gave me 2019 530e loaner. Thankfully it's all free and no more fuel smell coming from my tank.
