Anyone have cop cars in their area like this?
Looked out my office window today and saw a first. I haven't seen a car to which looked this OEM before. Typically the unmarked cars have the standard black wheels and a few other tell signs but never seen one that retained the OEM decals and wheels.
Pictures doesn't show the lights well (only a faint blue from lower front facia) |

My buddy is a cop and drives an unmarked Honda. Many of the vehicles are acquired through busts. When the trial is over, those assets go to the angency that made the arrest.

There are a few around here like that. Either high-speed pursuit vehicles or the impounded/confiscated ones like KoJ's friend. I've seen some old Ford Explorers with a headlight out light someone up once.
I'm sure a lot of LEOs add light bars, etc. to their personal vehicles depending on the jurisdiction, department needs. |

In my immediate area there is a Ford F-150 Crew Cab with a CAT plate on the front.
On the PA turnpike I've seen everything from a Ford Focus to a Honda Civic to an older Ford Explorer (about 8 years old).

We have "watermarked" and completely unmarked ("watermarked" referring to "Police" badging blending with the paint so you really can't tell) Mustangs and Camaro's driven by SAPD. They are notorious for instigating street races.
Hence, my policy in regards to "playing around with other drivers" is pretty much if you have a pretty plain looking Mustang, Camaro, or Charger I don't even bother. |

Live in VA but grew up in SC...when I first started driving back in 90-91 ..SC troopers had the old 5.0 fox bodies in black, grey, and red.......super dark tint usually gave them away, in the 2000's they had unmarked camaro SS's, ....now in SC they have Volvo's, BMW's (both built production plants in SC) they still run unmarked explorers and expeditions, tahoes and chargers

Illinois seems to use everything for the state police. I've seen mini vans with flashing blues.
Here's an interesting website to sift through; http://www.policecarwebsite.net/fc/statepdcars/isp.htm

Portland has a Grey 06-09 GT Mustang that looks pretty plain jane. Tinted so as not to show the mobile computer and other gadgets, but I can see being fooled by it.
Our local police drive the V8 chargers. A few were big mustang guys and happened to be on the forum where I was documenting my Saleen build. They said they told their chief that maintenance on the V6 was way more expensive than the V8, so he gave the OK for the V8. They also gave me a "pass" for when I needed to test the new motor out on the roads . |

Windsor ON, is notorious for having awesome cop cars. They used to have a fox body mustang that popped the trunk with a sign on the inside telling you to pull over. They also had a couple od SS camaros with nitrous, bunch of f-150s amongst others. Wish I had some pics
