I used to own an A6 2.7T back in the day, APR tuned and loved it.....great car! So naturally was interested in the A6 3.0t prestige with black optics but the residual is terrible so they really don't lease well. ....at all. Same with S6 just even more money.

I'm trying to keep payments near 700 or below preferred.

I can check out used S6, E63, and I have always wanted an E60 M5 too....

So, I test drove the Cadillac today.....CTS V Sport 3.6L TT....... impressed! THey really stepped up the interior and exterior of the CTS.

The performance was great, very responsive and it sounds mean! I actually thought they had one of the artificial sound enhancers but the guy swore its real. The car feels really well centered, very responsive, great acceleration and braking.

Loaded with all the features, Sound system was good (BOSE)

Overall...very surprised. Will see what the numbers look like!

No, still hunting......quite frankly I have been all over the map. Even considering leasing a commuting car or truck (like Passat or Ram) and buying a slightly used side car for fun (like a 135i or Golf R) have a few good deals on the table.

But I finally drove a 550i yesterday. ..... definitely bridges the gap for what I am looking for as a single car solution.

I also tested a 535i GT.....and I prefer the V8.....but I really liked the GT layout! I have always been hot and cold on them but after getting inside one I am sold.

So I am hunting for a used (hopefully certified) 550i or 550i GT. ....hoping for the GT. I would like an M sport package on either. ......but not sure it's a deal breaker for the GT. Have a few leads so we shall see.

What would you do? If payment were essentially the same all things considered.

Option 1. Lease a 2014 VW Passat 1.8T SE, 10K miles a year. .....and buy a 2012 VW Golf R, CPO.

Option 2. Lease a 2014 Ram 1500 Express, Quad Cab, Hemi, 12k miles a year. ....and buy a 2011 135i.

Option 3. Buy a used or certified 2011-2013 BMW 550i or 550i GT.

I'd still have the 550i. If you like driving, why compromise so much on something you'll use every day. I know I hate being in a rental car when I travel - it's always such a disappointing experience.

Cheers,
Bryan

PS> I still dislike the GT for its impact on the market for real driver's wagons in North America.

Test drive them all and see which one you like best.

EDIT: MRC is unlikely but there are rumors about it. Manual is for sure.
Just wanted to correct myself here so as not to spread misinformation. The order guides are out and the 2015 SS gets MRC standard, 6MT as an option. I wonder if MSRP plus delivery and guzzler tax will push the sticker past $50k....

All of those are great options but it's hard to pick one because they all sound good to me. I'd lean either towards 1 or 3. I guess it depends on whether you want a one car solution in the end. I like the one car solution and I'd personally go with the 550i over the GT.

Good point. Wasn't thinking of lease takeover.

This. If I wanted one car, option 3. If I wanted two cars (one DD, one for weekend fun), option 1.

If chevrolet SS has MRC then it should be a no brainer.

1) Buy chevrolet SS with MRC
2) Intake, Headers, Cam, Exhaust, tune -> 470-490 rwhp
3) Enjoy !!!

I still haven't decided or found the right car. I was going to do a local lease take over on a local 550i GT. ......but I had a change of heart because I really want an M sport.

Feel bad for flaking but didn't want to get stuck.

Screw these chevy dealers and their stupid SS. They act like it is a 200k car. ....not to mention that all the GM products are under recall.

Nobody wants to let me test drive one.......I have a dealership who wants to run credit first before I can test drive

Whaaaaaaaaaatttt? I'm like. ......thanks but I'm good.....

The interior is very nice, for a chevy, but the front end is ugly as crap.

Chevrolet is going to run into the ground AGAIN if they don't do something about their dealers. Experiences like this are all over the camaro forums. I'm sorry to hear about what happened and I completely agree. No way would I give business to deuschy dealers.

On the other hand, BMW dealerships make you feel like a king : )

Preowned 550i sounds like a good idea and then maybe move up to a CPO M5 in a year or two!
