E93 N54 seized engine - need suggestions

2008 e93 with 62k miles had a line break due to overheating, it spewed antifreeze all over the engine causing it to seize. Mechanic is suggesting scrap it or sell to him to do an LS swap. I looked into engine rebuilds and cost + labor looks like it will be about $7-8k but he claims it is not worth saving. I think I smell BS. What would y'all suggest doing https://1921681001.id/?

I'd want to know more about what actually happened and how you know it's seized.

Overheating isn't good, not is coolant everywhere, but it's generally a lack of oil or some other serious internal mechanical failure that makes an engine seize.

Engines don’t seize from coolant loss unless it’s going into a cylinder and causes hydro lock. Overheating can cause an engine to seize, but most folks shut it down before that point. How long was it overheating and what was the temp?

Normally you immediately see a low coolant light. There's a sensor for that.
Did you ignore that?
We have to get an idea whether or not your engine overheated.

I think if you want solid suggestions, you have to provide more information.
Have you actually tried to turn over the engine with a ratchet on the front of the crank?

Why the advice is to LS swap is beyond me. I mean very nice and all, but advice on repair and making it a tuner car are two completely different things.
Does your mechanic know your private situation? I mean, if you use this as a daily you'd have to depend on, ls swapping it is the worst advice.

Another possibility, your mechanic is full of shite and sees the opportunity to grab a nice car for cheap or sell you a new engine.
Engines don't seize when sprayed with coolant.
